Natural Resources & Sustainability

This research area focuses on the socio-economic analysis of agrarian (agricultural and forest) systems from a systemic point of view, addressing stakeholders along the supply chain.

Central themes include the sustainability of food and agrarian systems, economic valuation of ecosystem services, the perceptions and behaviours of different agents involved in the value chain, assessment of mechanisms and policies supporting these systems, and the livelihood strategies adopted by smallholders, examined specifically in relation to their resilience in the face of global change.

This dynamic vision of CREDA is applied to various research themes including food waste, extensive farming systems, and agroforestry systems, using a variety of qualitative and quantitative social science methodologies.
