CREDA Activities: March Update

🗓️ March 04 – Obesity prevention at the Universitat de Barcelona

Amèlia Sarroca and Adrià Menéndez i Molist attended the Jornada del Dia Mundial de l’Obesitat organized at the Faculty of Medicina i Ciències de la Salut. The session focused on discussion and reflection on the stigma, treatment and prevention of obesity.

The CREDA technician and doctoral student collaborated with Gemma Salvador, dietitian and nutritionist at the Agència de Salut Pública de Catalunya (ASPCAT).

🗓️ March 07 – Attending the 9th European User Conference for Microdata

As part of the HealthyW8 project, Nada Kajad participated in the 9th European User Conference for Microdata held in Germany.

He presented the study conducted by CREDA on the association between individual predictors and body mass index, taking into account contextual predictors. He also took the opportunity to discuss with experts the statistical model used and the approach to handling a large data set.

🗓️ March 09 – Progress in the GI SMART project

The CREDA team involved in the GI SMART project received staff from the University of Parma to discuss the issue of evaluating the sustainability of all Geographical Indication productions in the European Union.

In addition, they shared knowledge about the RICA and Eurostat databases to develop a method that can be reproduced by the rest of the project entities.

🗓️ March 26 – SWITCHtoHEALTHY final meeting

Kenza Goumeida, Chema Gil, Amèlia Sarroca and Djamel Rahmani participated in the closing sessions of the European project.

During the day on Wednesday 26th, partners met with the aim of sharing results and opinions from all the work packages. Amèlia and Kenza presented the results of the economic and environmental impact and behavioural changes.

In addition, to present the initiative externally, a conference was held on Thursday 27th with representatives from PRIMA, external companies and projects similar to SWITCHtoHEALTHY. Djamel was in charge of presenting both research studies.
