🗓️ May 14 – We present the Informe del Sistema Agroalimentari de Catalunya (SAC)
Chema Gil participates in the ‘2n Fòrum de la indústria agroalimentària de Catalunya’ to present the Informe del Sistema Agroalimentari de Catalunya (SAC), in a day dedicated to the analysis of competitiveness and artificial intelligence within the sector.
He highlighted that in 2021 the SAC represented 15% of production, 10.1% of added value, and 15.8% of Catalan employment, noting that “the agri-food sector allocated an expenditure of 1.17% of added value to R&D activities“.
🗓️ May 15 – Advances in HealthyW8
Zein Kallas Calot and Nada Kajad represented CREDA, the leader of Work Package 5, at the conference held at the historic Colégio do Espírito Santo of the University of Évora, Portugal.
Over three days, the initiative brought together researchers and leading institutions across Europe to foster collaboration in obesity prevention. The CREDA team participated in discussions and knowledge exchanges, with a strong focus on data analysis.
🗓️ May 16 – We attend the Preparatory Youth Conference in Bangkok
As part of the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub Youth Leadership Programme, Sergio Urioste participated in the Preparatory Youth Conference for the 2nd UN Food Systems Summit Stocktaking Moment (UNFSS+4) held in Bangkok.
The conference, which brought together over 100 young leaders from Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, allowed for the sharing of experiences and views on food systems transformation. Sergio was also able to review the results of regional consultations with the aim of providing policy recommendations and highlighting critical gaps.
🗓️ May 22 (1) – SalamMed project annual meeting
Zein Kallas attends the Salam-Med project annual meeting in Sardinia to share progress in D5.3 and D5.4 on factors affecting the adoption of innovations and the effects of sustainable business models.
He also took the opportunity to lead a training on the CANVAS model.
🗓️ May 22 (2) – We participate in PhD Day
On the occasion of the celebration of the PhD Day in Sustainability of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Chema Gil presented the line of research followed by CREDA, and Mahdieh Khezrinejadgharaei, as a student representative, shared part of her doctoral thesis “Sustainability, resilience, vulnerability and climate change of the farming ecosystem in Catalonia”.
The day was held at the North Campus of Barcelona and brought together all the departments that have a program in sustainability.
