The Blue Economy recognizes the importance of the seas and oceans as engines of the economy for their great potential for innovation and growth. This innovation must be accompanied by an effective transfer of knowledge, which brings the research of the Catalan groups of experts in Blue Economy closer to society. Within the framework of the Maritime Strategy of Catalonia, the CREDA periodically carries out the dimensioning of the country’s Blue Economy following the methodology of the European Union.
